On our last day in Florence, we wandered across the river to find the Michelangelo Plaza. Before we got there, however, we happened upon a church that was high on a hill and included a very large cemetery. Some parts of the cemetery were inside under ground and other parts were outside. We had our picnic lunch on the church grounds and took pictures of the amazing view. We left the church and found the Michelangelo Plaza, which offered more amazing views of the city, including a view of the Duomo which, despite being a few miles away, still looked huge.
Before we left Florence, we took a picture of our hotel room, which, of course, included a picture of the Duomo on the wall. The picture of the card sticking out from the wall shows the key system for making sure we didn't leave the lights on in our room. When we went into the room, we had to put our room key into the slot to turn the lights on. Then, when we left the room, we of course needed to take our key with us, and when we pulled it out, the lights went off. An interesting system!
